In autumn 2025, a new season of RECOM ventilation training kicked off, bringing together HVAC installers and designers at the Dispex training space in Vilnius. It was not only a theoretical lecture, but also a practical session, giving participants the opportunity to get to know RECOM equipment better, discuss installation nuances and test new solutions.

Real installation challenges and solutions
Certified by RECOM expert Alvydas presented the most relevant topics that installers face on a daily basis, from choosing the right recuperator to balancing the system. The main focus is on the choice of unit capacity - recuperators with too low a capacity are often operating at the limit, leading to higher energy consumption, noise and a shorter unit lifetime. The recommendation is to choose a model operating at 60 % to ensure both comfort and efficiency.
Another important topic is planning the place of service. The expert reminded that vertical installations too close to the ceiling or the absence of a revision hatch often hinder maintenance. „It may seem like a small thing, but it is details like these that determine whether the system will be easy to maintain or whether the ceiling will need to be cut,“ said Alvydas.
New models and design improvements
The new RECOM range of ventilation units was presented at the training event, which is distinguished by greater efficiency, lower sound levels and more convenient access to automation. These solutions not only simplify installation and servicing, but also allow us to offer the end customer a cleaner and more cost-effective ventilation solution.
Participants also learned about Model EPP1SE the advantage of being able to switch sides. This functionality is particularly useful in small spaces where duct layout is limited. The simple relocation of the fan connections and the sensor allows the unit to be quickly adapted to the site situation.
Highlights on efficiency and safety
Another important topic - quality of duct insulation. An improperly insulated system loses heat, condensation builds up and mould can occur. Experts stressed that good insulation is essential to maintain the efficiency and reliability of the recuperator.
There was also a debate on Connecting the cooker hood and fireplace ventilation issues. The RECOM representative reminded us that the hood can only be connected without an integrated fan, otherwise there may be a risk of over-extraction, but the general recommendation remains to use a recirculating cooker hood without connection to a recuperator.
In homes with a fireplace, it is essential to ensure air balance to avoid draught disturbances.
Governance and digital solutions
The training introduces the different control panels and remote control options. Increasingly, customers are opting for smart LCD screens or control via a mobile app - the standard for modern comfort.
Participant insights and feedback
At the end of the training, discussions took place during which installers shared their experiences and suggestions. These insights will be used further improving RECOM devices and adapting them to the needs of the Lithuanian market. The RECOM training once again showed that professional development is an integral part of quality installation. Practical knowledge helps to avoid mistakes, save time and ensure a reliable result for both the installer and the end customer.
